Lusitania was a genius. A powerful, mega-genius whose brain did not fit his age. Griffin was just a bird. An ugly, beautiful raven who would wake up at dawn to sit on the telephone wires and watch the world unfold around him. He was always dwarfed by his brother in comparison, but he could care less. He loved his brother. It was this easy dismissal of Lusitania's brilliance that Lusitania took to heart. Lusitania became angry. Unhinged. Went so far as to torture Griffin. Screamed at him to see how incredible he was. But Griffin never said. Not to irritate his brother, but because he knew that if he did acknowledge it, that would be the end. Lusitania would have his need fulfilled, and then he would move on and never think of Griffin again, the same as he did and does with everyone. Griffin craved his brother's attention. At least when they confronted each other, his brother would get off the high horse long enough to spare him a glance. Even now, as his brother fled to Trommler Research to be validated and put to use, Griffin stalks him, haunts him, torments him. Not with words but the absence of them. Acting as if his brother is insignificant, if only so that his brother won't ignore him. That is his greatest fear after all.
His brother has sworn to destroy him, but Griffin still loves his brother and will do what he can to take him away from the vile people that turned him into a monster. This is, perhaps, the only sort of good he will ever exhibit. He could care less about other people, but his brother is his happiness, and therefore he cannot stand seeing his brother in what Griffin believes is a slave situation. He fights for freedom, and his brother's is no exception, though perhaps he fights for it a lot harder than he would for anyone else.
